Privacy Policy

DarziKhata is a tailor / darzi shop management app published by Tapas Dutta. This policy explains what information the app handles and how. In short: DarziKhata is local-first — your business data is stored on your own device, and (only if you choose) backed up to your own Google Drive. There is no DarziKhata server that receives or stores your data.

Who we are

The app is provided by Tapas Dutta (“we”, “us”). For any privacy question or request, contact tapasdutta@outlook.com.

No account, no signup

DarziKhata does not require you to create an account. You start using it straight away, and the data you enter stays on your device unless you enable Google Drive backup.

What data the app handles

You enter and store this information locally on your device:

• Customers — name, and optionally phone number, gender, address, photo and notes.
• Family members you add under a customer (name, relation).
• Orders and job cards — garments, measurements, style notes, dates, status and design/cloth photos.
• Measurements — garment measurements and reference photos.
• Khata (money) — advances, payments, dues, expenses and payment references you record.
• Karigars (workers) — name, optional phone, piece rates and payments.
• Shop profile — shop name, logo, phone, and (optional) GST number.

All of the above is stored in a database and photo folder on your device. We do not receive or have access to it.

Google Drive backup (optional)

If you turn on backup, DarziKhata copies its database and photos to a private folder in your own Google Drive (the app-specific “appDataFolder”), which is accessible only to the app on your Google account. Google Sign-In is used solely to authorize this backup. Tapas Dutta does not have access to your Google Drive or its contents. You can remove this data at any time — see the Data Deletion page.

Analytics

DarziKhata may use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand which features are used, so the app can be improved. These events are anonymous and aggregated (for example, “an order was created”). They never include names, phone numbers, addresses, amounts, measurements or photos.

Device permissions

• Camera & Photos — only to attach cloth / design reference photos and your shop logo, when you choose to.
• Contacts — only if you tap “Import from contacts”, to copy a customer’s name and phone into the form. The app does not read or upload your contacts otherwise.
• Notifications — to show the delivery, trial and payment reminders you schedule.

WhatsApp & SMS reminders

When you send a reminder, DarziKhata opens your own WhatsApp or SMS app with the message pre-filled — you press send. The app does not send messages on your behalf and does not store the contents of those messages on any server.

Purchases

The optional DarziKhata Pro upgrade is sold through Google Play Billing. Payment is handled by Google Play; DarziKhata does not receive or store your card or payment details.

Sharing & selling

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising. The app contains no ads. Your data leaves your device only when you choose to — for example, when you back up to your own Google Drive, or share a bill / slip / report through another app you pick.

Security

Your data is protected by your device’s own security. DarziKhata also offers an optional PIN and biometric app-lock to keep measurements and dues private on a shared phone.

Children

DarziKhata is a business tool intended for shop owners and is not directed at children.

Retention & deletion

Your data stays on your device until you delete it. You are fully in control — you can erase everything in-app, by uninstalling, or by revoking Drive access. See the Data Deletion page for step-by-step instructions.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest version.
