Delete Your Data

AsalBook has no backend server. There is no company-held copy of your book to request the deletion of — everything lives on your device and, only if you enabled backup, in your own Google Drive. You can remove it in any of these ways:

1. Delete everything inside the app

Open AsalBook → Settings → Delete all data, and type the 4-digit code shown to confirm (you can back up first). This permanently removes every person, loan, payment, item held and photo from the device, along with your PIN and settings, and the app starts fresh. You can also do this from your phone’s Settings → Apps → AsalBook → Storage → Clear storage.

2. Uninstall the app

Uninstalling AsalBook removes its encrypted database and all stored photos from your phone.

3. Remove your Google Drive backup (if you used it)

If you turned on Drive backup, delete that copy from your own Google account:

• Go to your Google Account → Data & privacy → Third-party apps & services.
• Select AsalBook and choose “Remove access”.
• This deletes the app’s private backup data (its appDataFolder) from your Google Drive.

What is kept

Only the date your free trial started (kept with Google so the trial doesn’t restart) and your Google Play subscription, which you manage in the Play Store. Neither contains anything from your book.

Usage statistics and crash reports

The anonymous usage statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase) and crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) never contain anything from your book and are tied only to a random app-instance ID, which is reset when you uninstall the app or clear its storage. They are deleted automatically — usage statistics after up to 14 months, crash reports after 90 days. To have them deleted sooner, email tapasdutta@outlook.com with the Support ID shown in AsalBook → Settings → About, and we will delete the analytics data for that install.

Deleting a single record

To remove just one person, loan or payment, open it in the app and use Delete.
